This alteration stems from the recent legislative update detailed in the Law No: 7491, dated 27.12.2023. Specifically, Article 26- Paragraph c) (10) of the section titled “II-Port Operations” within the tariff numbered (7) under Law No. 492.
The Turkish voyage permission document, managed by registered port agencies, includes vital vessel information—crew and passenger details, registration specifics, machinery, and vessel contents (whether private or commercial). Captains must provide these details to the yacht agency for processing.
This document undergoes thorough scrutiny and confirmation by various government departments—the harbor master, customs, passport police, and health and sanitary authorities. Once all departments confirm the details, vessels gain approval to sail, anchor, or berth within Turkish waters.
